    This is a beautifully crafted book with two interesting and believable lead characters. I read it in two sittings and can highly recommend this if you want to settle down to a very good read.

    Maggie O'Farrell has beautifully captured the essence of lost but hopeful love and she has created a list of flawed but engaging and romantic characters of whom you wished you could read more. The elusive but enduring love of Claudette and Daniel shines through for us all and the clunking frustrating of misunderstandings resonate with a near cruelty to anyone of a hopelessly romantic nature. The road travelled by Daniel is his own near unique one yet his companions on the journey have their own story to tell too. From his loyal and living children to his fellow travellers, including some like Rosalind who we see too little of. The narrative and structure are very original and this is a book that has hope driven through it.

    Just the right amount of complexity and pace to make me read into the early hours of the morning. I feel I got to know the characters well,felt their struggles, lived through the good and bad times with them. A really well written book that must have been a long time in the planning.
