    I finished the late Robert Jordan's WoT series- which was finished off by Brandon Sanderson- which was absolutely brilliant, he did such an fantastic job of finishing the series I thought I would see what he can do himself- I was not disappointed, this series is a cracking read and would recommend to anyone, well worthy of the David Gemmell awards.

    Sanderson tells an interesting story, and the universe he creates in his Mistborn Series is intriguing and original. Unfortunately, the characters are very one-dimensionally flat and cliche, and his world view is very simplistic. This isn't high literature, but it's OK light entertainment - good vs evil sword fights and punch matches. Like an inconsequential Hollywood action movie that draws you in for 1-2 hours, but that you will have forgotten about as soon as you left the cinema.

    With many books in the fantasy genre drawing on the same stories, it's so refreshing to read a unique storey. It's not about good vs evil, it's just a story about people trying to do what is right. True there are good characters and evil in it but it's mostly focused on the characters and their lives. Throw In a spectacularly unique fantasy setting and a clever plot and you have one of the best books you will read.

    Through the wheel of time books I have come across Brandon Sanderson. I really enjoyed this series kept me constantly hooked with it's twists and turns and has a really good fast pace. Brilliant a must read cannot recommend enough.

    The Mistborn Trilogy is an amazing piece of fantasy literature, it deserves to be read by fans of the genre everywhere, the world building and the setting is drawn out wonderfully. The books drip with atmosphere and the author develops his characters patiently amidst a universe that has a richly developed history. I found this trilogy to be remarkably complex, engrossing and with the his trademark use of unique magic systems it sets it apart for the rest.
