    This was an extremely useful book for beginners. I have recently taken the plunge and have moved away from simple point and shoot to the more creative opportunities that DSLR offer. If you are considering this route, read this book before you part with your hard-earned cash... You will save a fortune and end up with just what you need. I have already seen huge improvements in my photography after reading this book. It is also worth mentioning that the book is VERY readable... It is pitched at exactly then right level! I just hope that I can find another book in the somewhat limited iTunes library to move on to...

    For someone such as myself, who is just starting out, I feel that this book has covered all the basics, answered my questions and more! It's well written and easy to understand. It's really wet my appetite and given me confidence. I do feel however that there could have been more visual explanations, for example with regards image composition and the rule of thirds, something you'd expect in a photography book, also the referenced images were nowhere to be seen in most cases. I'm happy I bought the book. It's comprehensive and informative, but it could have been better illustrated with visual aids.
