    I can't find the words to describe Eddings and his sublime Belgariad and Mallorean books. Will forever be part of my life from reading them as a teenager to present day. Timeless classics

    I read this first when I was 14 or 15 (the same age as Garion) and devoured every single Sword and Sorcery book by David (and Leah!) Eddings that followed. Not literally. That would be mental. I would also highly recommend The Mallorean (the follow on to The Belgariad) and The Elenium and The Tamuli series. There's also the stand alone The Redemption of Althalus. All fantastic books/series and the first author that made me fall in love with this genre.

    I really like this book and the ones following so you will probably see more reviews about the other books as well. I first had this on paper back a number of years ago and have read it a couple of times. Stopped reading as many books for a while until I acquired an iPad. And now I am re living this great story once again. If you have not read this book, you have missed out. Once you read this one you will more than likely get the rest of the set so you can find out what will happen to Garion and his friends.
