    All 6 books in this world created in Trudie's mind grip and hold you throughout!! I've never read a series of books as fast as I have these. I just couldn't put them down. It's going to take a long time to choose my next read when I have to compare them to this!

    Very disappointing!!! I love all of her other books, the black magician trilogy are my faves I've read them numerous times, but this last book in this trilogy was a real let down. I thought it finished to soon a real anti climax and it finished before it got started. Very disappointed with this book.

    I would like to say first of all, what a fantastic series of books they are. The stories are very unique and don't confuse the reader. Every new twist brings me a rush of excitement that wills me to continue to read. I can say honestly that this trilogy is the best I have ever read, I hope it is continued. I would say these books are for anyone who likes a bit of magic. It's like a whole world of wonder and amazement written down on the page! A lot of the little things that happen in diplomacy are shown in this book and it has taught me a lot about the subtle ways of getting things done. Lots of planning, negotiation and plotting. As well as heartache and excitement are in this book. Even if you haven't read the first few books it doesn't matter. Trudi has explained what has happened already in the beginning parts of this book in a way that flows well with the story. Though I do recommend you do read the the others as they are absolutely fantastic!

    In the true Trudi Canavan way, I could not put it down. There was intrigue, laughter, sadness and interesting turns. My only concern is finishing the book left me strangely underwhelmed and expectant. As if this weren't the finale but another middle book in the series. I do hope there is more as there is much left in this amazingly intricate reality that is unexplored and amazingly addictive.
