About the author
Judith Kerr escaped from Hitler’s Germany with her family in 1933 when she was 9 years old. They lived in Switzerland and France before finally settling in England in 1936. She has written three novels about her childhood and many picture books, all published by HarperCollins Children’s Books.
She has a daughter who is a designer and a son who is a novelist. Judith lives in London

    The full video DOES'NT WORK !! Bit annoying as the children in my class would love to see it. It says in the description that they book is enhanced with VIDEO - which it is not. And 'other interactive materials' - I don't feel these descriptions are true. Would love to see the video and looking at the other comments everyone else would love to see it too ! Disappointed

    This is my favourite children's iBook. The story is superb and so is the narration. The animation is cute and perfectly suited to the style. Like the other reviewers have noted, the video at the end doesn't work, but its only a compilation of the animations on each page, so you don't miss out on any content. Highly recommended.

    To Judith Kerr, my 2 star rating is in no way reflective of your classic book. In my house we have numerous copies and the book is my wife's favourite book from her childhood. To the programmers, the full video does not work, the book/app crashes, the images seem unstable and the links to suggested books do not work. Shame really.
