DESCRIPTION:
It's customary for Gothic romance novels to include a mysterious girl locked in the attic. Hannah Smith just wishes she wasn't that girl. As a narcoleptic and the companion to an earl's daughter with a strange affliction of her own, Hannah knows she's lucky to have a roof over her head and food in her belly when so many orphans starve on the streets. Taken by handsome Jack Langley to a place known as Freak House, she finds herself under the same roof as a mad scientist, his niece, a mute servant and Jack, a fire starter with a mysterious past. A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

When I set out to write the Freak House series, I wanted to put my own spin on the Gothic novels of the Victorian era. I've always loved their creepiness, the secrets, and the romance too, but I wanted to see the story from the perspective of the character that is often present but never the heroine - the girl kept in the attic.

I hope you'll enjoy this trilogy as much as I enjoyed writing it.

    I liked and enjoyed reading this book but I often found it a little predictable. I would've also like for their to be more romance but I guessed that wouldn't work since its based in the Victorian era. I did however find it very interesting to read I only wish that we knew more about the what happens after the ending. I read the short story that subscribers get however I found that to not be very interesting as it didn't provide enough information. I do like the authors writing style and think that they are unique stories but I was thirsty for more information that wasn't provided. Though this book isn't a must read, can't put it down kind of book I did enjoy it and found that it interesting especially with all the quirks that kept on happening in the story though they're some boring buts the story really captures your interest in places and one I would recommend as well as the author.

    Loved reading this book, which captured me from page 1. Intriguing storyline, so well written, the characters and scenes just came to life perfectly. Genuinely, I couldn't put it down, stayed up much later than good for me, having read it in just 3 nights! Thank you for a great book, worth the lost sleep, really look forward to reading the sequel to answer my outstanding questions :-)
