    Loved this latest instalment of the Peter Grant series.Full of twists, turns and surprises couldn't put it down!Love how we finally get answers about Nightingale and Molly!Wont say anything as don't want to ruin it for others who have yet to read it, but a must read for any Aaron Aaronvitch fan, will not dissappoint! 💖😄👍

    Yet another winner from Ben Aaronovitch, tautly written, well characterised, brilliant story using the room his niche of super natural police combined with romance both requited and unrequited with good dollops of appropriate humour, heroes, frailties and a couple of truculent unicorns. hat more could you ask for? Thenext 5 books as soon as possible Mr Aaronovitch

    If you've ready any of the earlier books you'll know how good a writer Ben is. This book continues the story but can be read and enjoyed alone too. It's a realistic police thriller with a cleverly interwoven mystical element. The localities are reproduced well which adds to the believability of the story. The only problem is now having to wait for the next one.

    I love Ben's books and this one is no exception. I would love to see Ben attempt a longer paged novel as I feel this amazing world he has created needs more pages to give full justification to this intricate, unique world. More on the folly, more about Peter's personal development as he trains in this strange art, more on nightingale who must be finding his own situation difficult to deal with and his mentor/pupil relationship with Peter as their trust in each other grows. I felt the book didn't quite finish in Ben's usual 10 out of 10 style but again this is probably to do with me as the reader, wanting more from what is a unique, absorbing series which I hope continue for as long as possible!

    Another thoroughly enjoyable and easy to read adventure from Ben Aaronovich. Just a few criticisms: Mr Aaronovich come along surely 15 months is too long. I had to re-read book 4 to remember what Leslie had been up to. Do remember most TV programmes recap 7-8 times in an hour and forgive memory lapses. I was a little disappointed there wasn't more development in the world of magic and mysteries of Nightingale and the Folly. I absolutely loved the development of relationship between Beverley and Peter and sidekick Dominic. Thanks Ben, please don't make us wait another 15 months.
