  • Ok plot line but simply written

    I will say this, I got through to the end as I was intrigued by the story line and where Sadie would take it. The nanny turned lover/girlfriend story works as a concept but sadly the execution wasn’t great for me. Its written in simple conversations (he said/she said), not overly descriptive and ended up a bit anticlimactic and predictable. Overall, not great and know there better out there but this might work on a journey if you prefer the style of writing. I’d recommend the sample first to see how you get on.

    Started off ok but there was this slight annoyance for me anytime Oliver spoke because it was all clinical and formal and in reality anyone who can say that about their kid, it's a massive turn off because you would realise as pretty as the package is it can never make up for personality so I don't understand how Delilah became such a cliche when she had a strong witty personality to start. It just had no finesse or realism, I couldn't connect the chemistry it didn't really come off either of them too much. Let's be real nobody has lips that still tremble after a kiss, especially when it's like your tenth kiss. Sandi needs to get more real, less formal and don't drop in cheesy bits cuz it don't mix if you're not setting the tone properly which, you didn't

    An easy read despite being really poorly written in places. Who would actually say those things?! If you can get past the amateur style that makes you appreciate how well written some other books are, then it's a decent enough story with a happy ending.
